Cavity Wall Insulation is a great way of reducing heat loss through the walls of your home.
In the UK, houses typically have solid or cavity walls. Cavity walls are made up of two walls of brick, with an air space in between; by filling this space with insulation, heat loss is greatly reduced.
If you're a homeowner and receive a qualifying benefit you may be eligible for free cavity wall insulation as part of the ECO4 Scheme. Find out if you qualify and get a quote online today.
The benefits of Cavity Wall Insulation
We've put together a short explainer video for how your home can benefit from a free cavity wall insulation grant.
Around one third of heat loss within a home occurs through the walls. Insulation can help significantly improve this.
If you are a homeowner in receipt of a benefit and have Cavity walls, you're likely to qualify for free Cavity Wall insulation.
Small holes are drilled into the brickwork in a specific pattern ready to be injected.
The insulation is then injected into these holes until the space in between has been filled.
After the insulation has been injected, the small entrance holes in the wall are filled in to match the surrounding bricks.
Here are answers to some common questions about Cavity Wall Insulation.
A simple way to check whether you have cavity walls or solid walls is to look at the brick pattern of your home.

If your house was built after the 1920's, then it is likely to have cavity walls. Cavity walls are made up of 2 walls of bricks with a gap of air space in between - this is the cavity. Solid walls have no cavity.

If your house was built in the last 20 years or so, then the walls are likely to have already been insulated; however if you're not sure of this, we can help you.
Around 35% of heat in a home is lost through uninsulated walls.
Insulation material is injected directly into the wall cavity, filling the air space. Doing this traps the heat from inside your home, reducing heat loss and keeping your home warmer overall.
If you are a homeowner on benefits, and you have cavity walls - you could qualify for FREE Cavity wall insulation.
